The Games Are:-

Tried and tested - they have been used for many years with children who do not have Specific Learning Difficulties/dyslexia and those who do. They have been used in home-made versions before the decision to have them professionally printed was taken.

Short - all the games can be played within 5 minutes, which is ideal for children with dyslexia/SpLD who frequently have short concentration spans.

Flexible - the games are useful for all ages and abilities. The reading and spelling games can be adapted to suit individual pupil’s particular reading and spelling vocabulary. This means that they can be played with any list of spellings sent home from school, from 3 letter words like ‘cat’ to letter strings like ‘ight’ to topic based words. Each games pack includes blank word cards to allow parents/teachers to make a child’s own particular word cards.

Fun - children enjoy the games and will play them happily, reinforcing spellings when they would normally complain if asked to write a formal list or ‘be tested’ on them!

The Literacy Learning Games Pack has been developed following thorough trials with children with dyslexia/Specific Learning Difficulties and in consultation with Special Needs Co-ordinators to save teachers time and effort and to give parents enjoyable and short activities to play at home with their children.
